Only a Servant...

"A servant of God has but one Master. It ill becomes the servant to seek to be rich, and great, and honored in that world where his Lord was poor, and mean, and despised.

  • "...to seek to be rich"

Wow, that hits close to home... I desire a good income to someday support a family and have a house in my expensive state, but if that is more my goal than is loving and following Christ, is it not a desire to be rich? Hmmmm... Food for meditation.

P.S. Hello, from a fellow Ryan and graphic designer! :)

  • Amen! So true! Great food for thought! Thanks for sharing!=)

  • Hi Ryan!!! It's great to meet another Christian graphic designer with the same name! :-)

I think it is the American mentality to desire a 'good' job and a 'good' home... I really don't know that it is healthy thinking, though... It's not so much that those things are evil in and of themselves, it's the tendency of those things to take our focus off of Christ.
I'm sure you got quite a different perspective on life after your travels in Mexico! :-) I know I did after our two trips to Russia! it's quite different from here in the U.S. We are SO spoiled!

    God bless you!!!

  • Oops!
That was suposed to be me, I forgot to sign in as different user, and now Rachel's really mad at me. And she says she utterly mortified, too.

  • Hmm.... I've heard that patience is a virtue... Does that have any relevance to the latest comment?

Rest assured, it's there if you look!

  • Oh, no!
Yes, I am mortified! Upon my honor, I would never post such an impolite comment, and my dear sister goes and posts in my own name! (Somebody please scold her carelessness!!!)

I'm not so sure about the "really mad" part, but I am very disgusted!

Please note, everyone, I did not post the comment that was posted here at 5:48p.m.~
    and it's no joke, either!

  • Oh, yes, I remember now...

"Patience is a virtue, posess it if you can; it's seldom found in women, and never found in men."

Don't you just love that great saying?!=D

    (I do!)

  • Hey, I just thought maybe I ought to clarify two things:

First, that as sisters, Becc@ and I do tease and play alot, but we are not "mad" at each other(even despite the lack of smiley faces on the previous posts...!;-))
And second, that Becc@ may bark alot, but she never bites! You just have to know her...!=D

So in other words, "it's all in fun," so please take it that way!=)
