I thought that I would ask a question that is fairly controversial.... :^) But honestly, and from the heart, I'd like to know what your personal qualifications for Godly music are.
Sorry Ry, that I don't have much to offer....:-( As you know, your question has simply been an echo of similar ones I've been thinking about. I know what my convictions and standards are, but what I'm wading through is what is my Biblical basis for believing this way? Because of culture, upbringing, or the accepted norm around, it's easy to fall into the trap of believing something without really having a Biblical foundation under it. I'm realizing that some of what I thought was conviction is really just preference, and I don't want to live that way. I guess it's all part of the maturing process though. I don't want to be content just knowing what I believe, but why I belive it as well.
I'm sure I'll be continuing to think about this for awhile yet...especially considering some of the decisions I'll be making. What is really important, and what is not?
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matthew 5:13, 14
