Thanks, Ryan. I've come back to this post several times just because of the challenge it has been to me. The verse and graphic combine to create a powerful reminder to the true priorites in life. Somehow a pictoral representation gives a whole new depth to words often passed over for their familiarity.
Have you ever considered making such graphic/verse combinations for desktop wallpaper? I know many who would be blessed to find something like that!
Hi Andrea, You are welcome, but give the praise to God! Yes, I have considered doing desktop wallpapers, but I have not for several reasons. Firstly, lack of time, secondly, there are others who have way more talent than I do, (aSourceOfJoy, for example) and thirdly, lack of good graphics. I could use my own pictures, but sometimes a painting can speak in softer tones than a picture could... Anyhow, just some thoughts. Feel free to tell me that these are just excuses! :-)
Hi there! I followed a link here from Andrea Herrlinger's blog and I too was blessed by this graphic and the words with it. These kinds of reminders are needed! I think of Psalm 138:6 - "Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off."
Hey, Shelly! It's good to hear from you again! Yes, humility is a very important asset to the Christian... And one that is lacking way too much in my life. The more I pray for humility, it seems like the more pride is exposed... I just marvel at how Jesus walked this earth in complete humility, and yet he had so much to be "proud" of. What an example!
God Bless! -Ryan -- “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” Isaiah 57:15
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” Matthew 5:13, 14
